The Clearblue Pregnancy Test with Estimated Age of Pregnancy is the one and only test that's as reliable as an ultrasound scan when it comes to dating your pregnancy1.

Its intelligent dual sensor not only tells you in words whether you're "pregnant" or "not pregnant", it also tells you how long you've been pregnant. The number of weeks since conception is displayed as 1-2, 2-3 or 3+.

It can be used 5 days* before your period is due to start (which corresponds to 4 days before your expected period).

In laboratory tests, 98% of Pregnant results were detected the day before the expected date of menstruation, 97% 2 days before the expected date of menstruation, 90% 3 days before the expected date of menstruation and 65% 4 days before the expected date of menstruation.

Clearblue with Estimated Age of Pregnancy is a pregnancy test manufactured by SPD Swiss Precision Diagnostics GmBH and distributed by Procter & Gamble Health France SAS. It is recommended to carry out the test on the expected date of menstruation. If in doubt about the result obtained, consult your doctor. This digital DIV device meets the emission and immunity requirements of EN 61326-2-6:2006. The EMC countermeasures within the electronic instrument provide reasonable protection against the effects of electromagnetic interference likely to be encountered in a domestic environment. How to use it

Before taking the test, always read the instructions carefully.

If you take the test on the expected date of your period, you can take it at any time of day. If you take the test before the expected date of your period, use the first urine of the day to obtain a reliable result for estimating the age of your pregnancy. Avoid drinking too much before taking the test.

When you're ready to take the test, take the test stick out of its packaging, remove the blue cap and use the test straight away.
Hold the absorbent stick pointing downwards under the stream of urine for just 5 seconds. Take care not to get the rest of the test stick wet.
Or dip the absorbent stick for just 20 seconds into a urine sample that you have stored in a clean, dry container.

The hourglass symbol starts flashing, confirming that the test is in progress. The hourglass stops flashing and the result appears.

- The result is displayed within 3 minutes.
- It is possible that the "Pregnant" result will appear before the pregnancy age indication. Wait until the hourglass stops flashing to see how many weeks have passed since conception.
- The test results are displayed for approximately 24 hours.

When should I take a pregnancy test?

The ideal time to take a pregnancy test varies according to several factors, including the type of test you use and your menstrual cycle. As a general rule, most pregnancy tests are more reliable when taken 1 to 2 weeks after the expected date of your period. This time allows the chorionic gonadotropin hormone (hCG), which is produced after fertilisation, to reach a detectable level in the urine. Performing the test during this period therefore increases the chances of obtaining an accurate result. However, there are more sensitive tests, such as the Clearblue Pregnancy Test, which can be used up to 5 days before your period is due to start, i.e. 4 days before your expected period. These Ultra-sensitive tests are designed to detect lower levels of hCG, enabling early detection of pregnancy. However, there is a greater risk of obtaining a false negative if the test is carried out too early.

To increase the accuracy of the test, it is also recommended to perform it in the morning, when the urine is more concentrated in hormones. As hCG is more concentrated in morning urine, this maximises the chances of obtaining a reliable result. If the first test is negative and you still suspect pregnancy, it is advisable to repeat the test one week after the initial results. Levels of hCG generally double every two to three days at the start of pregnancy, making the test more accurate over time. To sum up, the timing of a pregnancy test depends on various factors, including the type of test and your own menstrual cycle. Taking these variables into account will help you choose the most appropriate time to take the test, thereby increasing the chances of obtaining an accurate and reliable result.
