FC + Cleft Palate Teat
NUK First Choice Cleft Palate Teat is a non-drilled cleft palate teat. It has been designed so that the rubber part of the teat seals the cleft palate.
The hole in the teat must be drilled manually on a case-by-case basis, following the instructions of the doctor who has examined the Children's palate. A needle is used to pierce the hole on the top of the teat, either to the right or to the left, but never in the cleft palate or on the underside of the teat (which would then be blocked by the baby's tongue). It is also possible and more hygienic to use a toothpick to pierce the hole, pushing the stem from inside the teat to bring out the latex and cut out the desired part. The hole should be as small as possible, as it can always be enlarged if necessary. One of the most important properties of this specific Nuk teat is that it encourages the natural movement of sucking, chewing and drinking. The curved top of the teat presses against the roof of the mouth with each mouthful swallowed. This closes the cleft palate and channels the milk into the cheeks and between the teeth. The food cannot reach the Breathing passages and the Children cannot swallow incorrectly. The milk is still sufficiently mixed with the saliva, which is important for good digestion.
This product complies with standard EN 14350.
