A semi-permeable barrier for superficial wounds
The 3M Tegaderm Film Dressing is a transparent medical device designed to protect non-exuding superficial wounds. Made from a semi-permeable polyurethane film, it creates an optimal healing environment by shielding against external contamination. Acting as a rigorous barrier against liquids, bacteria and viruses, it still allows gas exchange – letting skin breathe while preventing the tissue maceration often caused by traditional occlusive dressings.
Gentle on skin with extended wear
This transparent 3M dressing features a hypoallergenic adhesive that contains no latex or colophony, minimising the risk of contact dermatitis. Its secure adhesion allows it to remain in place for up to 7 consecutive days, reducing the need for frequent changes that could disturb new granulation tissue and cause epidermal trauma. Particularly recommended for securing catheters or providing a watertight seal over primary dressings.
Clear visibility and atraumatic removal
The Tegaderm protective film is designed for easy wound monitoring – its complete transparency lets you assess healing progress without disturbing the dressing. A specialised application frame ensures precise, tension-free placement with no wrinkles, even when applied by patients themselves. Highly flexible, it conforms to anatomical contours for continuous comfort during movement. When replacement is needed, the dressing removes gently to protect fragile skin.

How to use it
How to use 3M Tegaderm dressing film?
Clean and dry the skin before application. Gradually peel away the protective backing while applying the dressing without touching the adhesive side. Smooth from the edges towards the centre to prevent bubbles. The breathable, water-resistant film remains securely in place for several days.
To remove: gently lift one corner and peel away slowly. Do not reuse.
