Bach Crab apple flower, symbol of Pureté
The Crab apple flower, also known as Mulus Pumila or wild apple blossom in French. It has five white petals, sometimes with a few shades of pink, a colour that catches the light well and is reminiscent of purity, arranged around a heart made up of yellow stamens. This is a fragile-looking flower, with delicate petals due to its shallow roots. It blossoms in spring, during May and June, to produce small apples that are picked after the first frost.
It grows on wild apple trees, which can reach between five and ten metres in height with a dense crown, giving them a robust appearance. They grow throughout Europe and are highly adaptable, being able to grow in all types of soil. They also tolerate sub-zero temperatures very well. The Crab apple is a fairly independent forest tree, as trees of the same species rarely grow next to each other.
