Pycnogenol® is a unique plant extract from the bark of maritime pine (Pinus pinaster or Pinus maritima,) from south-west France. The extract contains a particularly high concentration of oligo-proanthocyanidins (OPCs), bioactive plant substances belonging to the large group of flavonoids. Flavonoids are an important source of antioxidants. Pycnogenol® has been the subject of numerous clinical studies. Pycnogenol® 50 mg Pure Encapsulations® provides an optimal dose of these OPCs. The only ingredient in Pycnogenol® Pure Encapsulation® is maritime pine bark extract incorporated into a bulking agent (microcrystalline cellulose of plant origin) and protected by an antioxidant (a form of vitamin C).
