Between 1928 and 1935, the British doctor and homeopath Edward Bach developed 38 Original flower essences in England. He then moved to Mount Vernon in Oxfordshire to continue his research into incorporating natural ingredients into medicine. Edward Bach believed that a person's state of mind and emotional Well-being were the keys to good health. With years of research into the use of flowers and plants, he developed a simple, gentle method of 38 flower essences in Oxfordshire, England.

Developed in 1936, the Rescue® blend is made up of five original Bach® flowersthat contribute to the daily use of serenity for the whole family in all circumstances. Nelsons' connection with the original Bach® flower goes back to Edward Bach himself in the 1930s. With the growing demand for flower essences, Edwards contacted Nelsons and his homeopathic Pharmacie about bottling the elixir and making them available to the public. After Edwards' death, his assistant Nora Weeks took over the business and the relationship continued. Nelsons continued to grow and now manufactures and distributes flower essences worldwide under the brand name Rescue, derived from the creation of Bach flower essences.
