Natural iodine comes from a North Atlantic algae (Kelp).
Kelp is an enormous algae. This iodine rich algae comes from the North Atlantic and can grow up to 50 meters long in the case of the California Kelp. A lack of iodine can have negative effects on physical and mental development.
Iodine is an essential trace element in human life. The daily needs of a healthy adult are of around 150µg a day, while a pregnant women should consume between 200 and 290µg. It is used to create thyroid hormones, such as thyroxine. Its absence causes glandular turgescence, which manifests itself via a goitre. A lack of iodine can cause mental health problems. Certain people can be allergic to products containing iodine.

How to use it
For adults, take one (1) tablet every two days, preferably during meals or as recommended by your doctor. Respect the instructions for use.
If pregnant, only take under medical advice. Store in a cool, dark and dry place. Keep away from children.
Suitable for vegetarians.

Each tablet gives you: Binding agents (dicalcium phosphate, microcrystalline cellulose): 253mg. Anticaking agents (vegetable magnesium stearate, vegetable stearic acid, silicon dioxide): 13mg. Plant gum: 6mg. Iodine (obtained from 90mg of dehydrated North Atlantic Kelp): 225µg.
The Kelp solgar tablets are maize-free, yeast-free, wheat-free, soy, gluten or milk derivatives free, preservative-free, flavouring or artificial colouring free.
The main action of thyroid hormones is to increase oxygen consumption by cells and energy expenditure.
