ULTRA-GYN®, ovule is a medical device containing the yeast Saccharomyces boulardii CNCM I-745.
It is designed to relieve the symptoms of vulvovaginitis (the most common of which are excessive, foul-smelling vaginal discharge and vaginal itching, burning or irritation) and to restore the vaginal flora (or "Microbiota").
Like the intestine, the vagina is home to a specific flora - made up of a group of beneficial micro-organisms - which helps to protect us from infection. When this flora is out of balance, potentially harmful germs normally present in the vagina, or coming from outside, can proliferate. In this situation, it is important to re-establish the natural flora. Imbalances in vaginal flora can be caused by a number of factors:
- certain treatments: antibiotics, antifungals, local antiseptics, anti-inflammatories, contraceptives (IUDs, spermicides), hormone treatments, etc
- unprotected sex with multiple partners,
- acute or chronic sexually transmitted infections (STIs),
- aggressive hygiene habits: vaginal showers, frequent toileting, use of unsuitable soaps, etc.
- wearing clothes that are too tight or synthetic underwear,
- pregnancy, childbirth, the post-partum period and the menopause.

Compositions & ingredients

Composition: ULTRA-GYN®, ovule contains freeze-dried Biocodex Saccharomyces boulardii CNCM I-745 yeast cells and a fat matrix (hemisynthetic glycerides).
Each egg is individually packaged in a PVC/PVDC/PE triplex cell.

In rare cases, vaginal burning which disappears spontaneously has been observed. In the event of local intolerance or allergic reaction (appearance or worsening of irritation, pruritus, burning sensations, etc.), stop treatment and talk to your doctor or pharmacist.

ULTRA-GYN®, ovum has a characteristic yeasty odour. This is normal and does not mean that there is a problem. This odour has no effect on the tolerance or efficiency of the product.
Discharge may occur a few hours after insertion of ULTRA-GYN®, ovum (use of a panty liner is recommended).
Do not use ULTRA-GYN®, ovum if you are allergic to any of the components contained in this product.
In the absence of studies, ULTRA-GYN®, ovum should not be used at the same time as a diaphragm, spermicide or latex condom.
In the absence of data, it is not recommended to use ULTRA-GYN®, ovum if you are pregnant.

Warnings and Precautions :
- do not use ULTRA-GYN®, ovule at the same time as antifungal treatment but rather following this treatment.
- do not swallow.

How to use it

It is advisable to consult the package leaflet before use.

Recommended dose: 1 ovule per day for 8 to 10 days, preferably in the evening.
Method of administration: Remove the egg from its protective blister. Insert the egg deep into the vagina, preferably in a lying position.
The easiest way to do this is to lie on your back with your knees bent and apart.

Practical advice:
- wash your hands thoroughly before and after administering the product,
- insert ULTRA-GYN®, ovum preferably before going to bed; lying down minimises the risk of the product leaking out,
- wear cotton underwear,
- to avoid staining underwear, it is advisable to wear panty liners during treatment,
- Avoid douching and using perfumed soaps and bubble baths,
- Avoid wearing tampons or menstrual cups during treatment,
- Treatment may be continued during menstruation.

A few tips for hygiene that respects the vaginal flora:
- limit your cleansing to the vulva: the vagina, which cleans itself, should not be showered, even with water,
- Preferably use mild soaps or products suitable for Intimate hygiene, with a pH close to 5,
- Anti-bacterial and antiseptic products should only be used during episodes of infection, and only on the advice of your doctor or pharmacist,
- After washing, dry yourself thoroughly with a clean towel,
- Wipe from front to back after a bowel movement to prevent the spread of bacteria from the rectum to the vagina.
