Its dark green, pungent-tasting leaves are oval and pointed, and its flowers are grouped in compact, fragrant, purple-pink inflorescences.
Daily use capsules containing this essential oil of compact oregano are available.
One capsule should be swallowed morning and evening with a cold drink during a meal, as a preventive measure against the difficult hygienic conditions encountered by backpack travellers, doctors without borders, etc.
