Picolite, which is to be consumed orally, is formulated to replace water and electrolytes (mineral salts) lost due to acute diarrhoea in babies and children.

You are advised to start administering the solution as quickly as possible by giving your child small amounts whenever they wish. Your doctor will prescribe a recommended dosage based on:
– your child's age and weight, and the severity of their dehydration.

If your child is moderately dehydrated (at a level below 10%), give them between 150 and 250 ml per kilogram per day. Half of this amount should be consumed in the first 4 hours, spread over multiple doses 30 minutes apart. The rest should be administered over the following 20 hours, in doses 2 or 3 hours apart.

– If your baby is vomiting, give them frequent doses of Picolite using a teaspoon (1 teaspoon every 1 or 2 minutes).

– In all cases, if your child presents symptoms of diarrhoea, you must consult your doctor. Only they are qualified to prescribe a daily amount suitable for your child's individual nutritional needs.

– Dissolve contents of sachet in a sterilised baby bottle containing 200 ml of mineral water that is suitable for your child to drink, or clean water boiled for 5 minutes and cooled to room temperature.
– Shake before use. Do not add sugar or salt.
– Feed orally to your child strictly in the amounts recommended by a medical professional.
– Once activated, the solution may be kept refrigerated for no longer than 24 hours. Store sachets at room temperature and away from moisture.
