Flaxseed has the same ratio of omega 6 to omega 3 as leafy vegetables. Virgin linseed oil is the richest source of alpha linolenic acid (58% omega-3). It is the only food oil, of European origin, which provides more omega3 than omega6 (omega 6 / omega 3 = 0.24). Flaxseed oil is also composed of 14% monounsaturated fatty acids (oleic acid) and 14% linoleic acid (omega 6).
